Over valleys wide, we were side by side, and the company grew stronger
We were nine companions through the hills and canyons, but the road seemed ever longer
Then the wizard white sent a blizzard right into the misty alpine ranges
So we headed straight to the mountain gate and the mines of hidden dangers

Tonight, tonight, take the load off your mind tonight
You’ll find I’m right, leave the shadow behind you
See the light

The warning blade was blue, many arrows flew as the fearless foes we fought them
Then the wizard grey, felt the bridge give way as the fiery creature caught him
It’s a sad end when you lose a friend, it’s a burden on yourself
And so our hearts were cold through the woodland gold to the shelter of the elves

Tonight, tonight, take the load off your mind tonight
You’ll find I’m right, leave the shadow behind you
See the light

I dreamed that a dark age was upon us
My ears rang to the screams of the dying
And as I searched for the source of this evil
An image appeared of a shadow rising

I looked into your mirror, saw the future with uncertainty
It’s not a pretty picture when you glimpse a dismal destiny
The way is no more clearer
Tell me, why you wouldn’t take this ring from me

It was hard to resist at first sight
And like a child who was lost in the night
I had to choose a path that was right
But I won’t be tempted tonight
Oh no, I won’t but you’ll find another might

Tonight, tonight, take the load off your mind tonight
Unwind, it’s alright, leave the shadow behind and
See the light, leave the shadow behind and
See the light
See the light, see the light
See the light, see the light
