Sitting here on the rug,
in front of the fireplace
Leaning against the couch,
staring at the flames that dance
in my glass of wine,
standing on the table in front of me
Curled up like a cat,
you're enjoying the warmth
of the fire at your feet,
while your head is resting in my lap
softly dreaming, half asleep

Evening is falling,
shadows grow long and black
A faint red shimmer,
the last trace of the sun
You open your eyes and smile
Reaching fingers caress my lips
Oh, how I love you for that

By coincidence we met,
both staying at this inn
Just a few days ago,
I never knew
that I was living without aim,
until the day you came
But tomorrow you'll be gone.
Your road will lead you
to your homecountry,
back to your loved ones
Oh, could you only take me with you

Evening is falling,
shadows grow long and black
A faint red shimmer,
the last trace of the sun
You open your eyes and smile
Reaching fingers caress my lips
Oh, how I love you for that
