I cry, I mourn for my dearly loved
A maiden bird never to be seen again
Whispering is all that remains
At the other side of twilight I'll wait

And shall my hope thrive forth faith, and faith shall thrive forth hope
As it ever and always does
As it always does

Over golden fields and harsh plains I look
Shiny skies and gleaming streams
Where all seems paradise, either a hoax
But I dursn't to look back into the mirror

The gladden fields stretch as far as they can
But I never looked farther than the horizon
And if I dare, whither then? I do not know
I'll wait for you here, forever more

Break the spell, release yourself
And follow the path of the blind
I'll never leave, for I shall wait for you
Death has taken me too soon
A ring of fire, a circle of steel
Keeps us apart

In the halls of Mandos I'll wait
I will never leave 'till she has said goodbye

Strange visions of lives past long forgotten and gone
Remembering things of events not even mine
Thought I had time to wait for you a little while more
But it seems that I'm called to the mirror
To the mirror
To the other side

Break the spell, release yourself
And follow the path of the blind
I'll never leave, for I shall wait for you
Death has taken me too soon
A ring of fire, a circle of steel
Keeps us a-....

Break the spell, release yourself
And follow the path of the blind
I'll never leave, for I shall wait for you
Death has taken me too soon
The last dragon tells its story
I will be gone

Artist Comment: "This song is my personal favorite. It has everything I wanted in it: Folk, a superb strong structure, a solo that I've invented and above all, a perfect story that is as strong as a mountain. Everything fits well with eachother. But amidst all this praising, there's only one 'but'... How can Jordi make a well-fitting scheme on the melodies (folk) which I have in my head? And how shall I pronounce the fifth sentence? There's too much spitting around with all the 'th'... The inspiration in this song comes from Kamelot, Sentenced (from the song 'Killing me, Killing you' and for a greater deal from Blind Guardian. To make some sort of tribute to Blind Guardian, I have inserted the sentence 'And follow the path of the blind'."
